Please find below information about your future homework - Passion Project.
The idea of the Passion Project is to investigate a topic or question you may have and these can be around Science, Geography, Sport, Communities, History or Cultures and Celebrations. The list of possible topics is endless, however, the topic/question is not something you are already an expert in but something new that you will need to investigate and learn about.
This project will form the basis for your homework for next term. You will also be allocated time each week to work on your project in class, share your progress and receive feedback. In some cases, you may have the opportunity to do more than one project in the term.
Your first project will be an individual task. However, as the year progresses we hope that there will be an opportunity to complete tasks in collaboration with other student/s.
One recommendation is that this project is done electronically via your weebly website. This is for convenience and will allow you to work on your project outside allocated times if you finish other work early. It will also allow students not taking their computer home to upload work and have it saved on their webpage which will eliminate needing to bring a usb stick or large poster back and forth from school.
The first task is for during the holidays.........
Think about something you would like to learn more about. What interests you? What could your topic & question(s) be that you wish to answer? How will you potentially go about finding the answers to these questions? What materials might you need and are these easy to find around the home or do you need items found at school? What might you need help with and how can we best support you in this endeavour?
In the first week of term 2, you will need to prepare a proposal of your investigation outlining what you might need help or support with, anything you're not sure of and how you are going to present your findings at the end of your project. Teacher approval will need to be given before any Passion Projects begin.
Imagine a future free from cyber bullying!
During today's session students were asked to imagine a school, in the near future where students use technology without fear of bullying and harassment—a place where students feel empowered to solve online bullying issues together and where teachers and students work together to ensure safe online spaces place for all.
Students developed their own big ideas for a world free from cyberbullying as part of the 2018 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA).
This presentation helped students to do this by:
